That sweater with Rudolph and Frosty hugging not doing it for you? No worries.‘Tis the season for reds and greens, so there’s always a way to look fabulous and still keep Grandma’s knitting fingers at bay. Takes cues from this fashion strip of recent runway shows to capture an understated, yet festive holiday look. Ho-ho-how amazing are those Isabel Marant cropped trousers?

Today is a national holiday in France. It’s Vanessa Paradis’ birthday. Not familiar? She’s a famous pop singer, actress and model with a few covers of Vogue Paris here and there (who’s counting?). A seat in the front row is reserved for her at every fashion fête, and Uncle Karl obviously adores her. It’s more than likely that assistant #14 is writing her a birthday card on his and Chanel’s behalf right about now. We love her because she’s part of the reason why the indifferent Parisian girl attitude and style is pretty much an art form. Did we mention she’s kept Johnny Depp off the market for the past 13 years? On second thought, maybe we hate her…
Meet the “xoxo” of Gossip Girl. Costume designer Eric Daman grants the kiss of couture to the entire GG cast every Monday at 9/8c. From Blair’s signature headband and pearls to Chuck’s dapper ascots and boat shoes, this man is the architect behind all of the looks we’ve been lusting over since the inception of everyone’s favorite primetime guilty pleasure. Admit it, prep school uniforms wouldn’t be half as cool as they are now if it weren’t for his impeccable accessorizing skills.
Is this a distant-cousin of Jane Aldridge’s or an exiled pink lady with a Jessica Rabbit obsession? Or perhaps an elfin pin-up doll? The vaudevillian reincarnation of Judy Garland? We can’t put our finger on what makes 25 year old British chanteuse Paloma Faith the itsy bitsy firefly of fabulous she is, but one thing is for certain – girl’s got an enchanted sense of style. Her neo-soulful croons echo greats like Billie Holiday and Lesley Gore, but Faith’s ringling theatrics remain an unearthed gem here in the States. We think it’s a temporary snag, though.
Tune in to the title track of her debut album: “Do You Want The Truth or Something Beautiful?”
