She used to be such a nice girl: Gwyneth Paltrow shatters her clean cut image by dropping the C-word

By Marcus Barnes

Can C it going wrong: Gwyneth Paltrow used the c-word during an appearance on the Chelsea Handler show

Gwyneth Paltrow may have been keen to cultivate an image as a domestic goddess.

However, on chat show Chelsea Lately, she killed it off in one fell swoop.

The actress has been dismantling her clean cut, butter-wouldn't-melt public persona.

But her latest effort to break the mould may have gone too far after the actress used the much maligned c-word during an appearance to describe her grandmother on Chelsea Handler's chat show.

Scroll down to watch the video.

The 38-year-old actress was invited on the show, which goes out at 11pm every weekeday, to speak about her cookery book My Father's Daughter.

Midway through their chat Gwyneth and Chelsea came to the realisation that they both had German grandmothers who were mean, and with the same first name.

After Chelsea, 36, said her relative was "a real bitch", Gwyneth retorted: 'Mine was a real c***'.

The word was bleeped out but eagle-eyed viewers will still be able to lip read and work out what she'd said and the reaction of those around her was a testament to that.

After the actress dropped the C-word, Chelsea recoiled with laughter and the audience broke out into a round of cheers and applause.

You've changed: The actress also explained her change in lifestyle giving up on eating healthy when she was pregnant with daughter Apple

When they died down Gwyneth went on to explain that her 'Mutti', her mother's mum, was full of spite.

Gwyneth said: 'She just hated my guts, basically, and she tried to poison my mother against me.'

'She must not have been very happy and she must have had a lot of pain because she was as mean as hell.'

During the chat Gwyneth also explained why she kicked her macrobiotic diet to adopt a more 'normal' approach to eating.

She cited her late father Bruce Paltrow's battle with cancer as inspiring her to eat healthier.

Family: Gwyneth with her late father Bruce Paltrow and mother Blythe Danner in 2002

Gwyneth told Chelsea: 'The reason why I started eating healthy was because I was trying to get my dad to eat healthy when he was diagnosed with cancer.

'He was disgusted by all my health food, he was like "This is disgusting, this is like biting into cardboard, I hate this food".

'I was trying to get him to cure his cancer by eating and I got into eating healthy too. Then, when I got pregnant with Apple, I could not eat any healthy food I was like Baskin Robbins, french fries and I never looked back.'

In recent months Gwyneth has been chipping away at her holier-than-thou image and putting herself out there - proving to be a lot more fun and edgy than it may have seemed.

Gwynning formula: The actress' recent forays into singing and comedy have shown a whole new side to her

She's tried her hand at singing and comedy, with appearances in U.S. musical smash Glee - as well as working with Cee Lo Green and recording her own album.

At the Oscars she was asked who she'd like to work with, and she answered Jay-Z, explaining: 'I think we’d be a good combination. He is a genius — and I’m his biggest fan.'

And, in a possible attempt to prove she's got the necessary skills to collaborate with the rap mogul, Gwyneth had a go at rapping on the Ellen Degeneres Show last week.

She rhymed along to the infamous track Baby Got Back by Sir Mix A Lot while shaking her backside.

And it was all Yellow: Gwyneth Paltrow pays a fashion tribute to husband Chris Martin's hit song at her recipe book signing

By Georgina Littlejohn

The good wife: Gwyneth Paltrow paid tribute to husband Chris Martin's song Yellow in a pretty satin dress at a signing for her cook book in Los Angeles yesterday

It was the breakthrough song that shot Coldplay to fame and fortune as Chris Martin crooned about unrequited love.

So it was only fitting that the love of his life should pay tribute to her pop star husband by wearing the colour that put him on the music map.

Gwyneth Paltrow wore a pretty yellow satin dress as she held a signing for her new recipe book in Los Angeles yesterday.

The below-the-knee dress, which she teamed with Rachel Roy shoes, clung to her curves as she posed for the cameras at the Williams-Sonoma kitchenware store in Beverly Hills.

The book is called My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness.

It includes her favourite family recipes and she shares personal stories of her father Bruce, who died in 2002 and inspired her to cook.

Canary chic: The dress clung to Gwyneth's slender figure and the bright colour suited her skin tone and blonde hair

Gwyneth also explained why cooking is really important to her and said: 'I think the importance of eating together as a family and making homemade food that is nourishing and good for you.

'My dad used to really talk to us when we ate dinner and see what we thought about things, and now I use that opportunity to do the same.'

Actress-turned-author: Gwyneth is surrounded by copies of her cook book as she sat down to sign some for fans

She spent two hours signing books and meeting fans who had patiently queued in the store to meet her.

Last week, she appeared on US chat show Rachael Ray, she said she encourages her children to get involved in the kitchen too.

The 38-year-old also revealed that her young son Moses could be a budding chef in the making.

Sharing the culinary love: Gwyneth proudly holds up a copy of her book with recipes inspired by her late father Bruce

She said: 'My five-year-old can crack an egg like nobody’s business. You could give him a dozen eggs. It’s like… no shell in there, it’s perfect, clean and perfect every time.'

Coldplay had their first hit song with Yellow on 2000, two years before front man Martin met the Oscar-winner.

It appeared on their debut album Parachutes and also gave the band their first top ten hit in the UK and the US.

Gwyneth Paltrow Does Self Magazine

Gwyneth Paltrow Does Self Magazine

Gwyneth Paltrow Does Self Magazine | celebrity quotes

‘I work my ass off!Gwyneth Paltrow covered Self Magazine this month and talked about how she stays in shape, her long and intense workouts and her pre-premiere juice diets:
“I never thought that I’d be considered to have a good body. I was bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom. But my trainer, Tracy Anderson, completely changed my legs, butt, arms and stomach. I feel better than ever, too.”
On her challenge areas:
“My butt! My butt, butt, butt. When Tracy met me, she said that I had a long, square butt that she was going to redesign, and I was, like, “Yeah? Good luck.” The amazing thing is, she was right! And it’s still changing!”
How she stays sane about her body:
“I’ve found what works for me. I know if I put in an hour and a half, five days a week, I’m good. If I’m on vacation and, like, “F— it, I’m not working out,” I know what to do when I get back. A lot of women think, “Oh, my God, I could never get there,” but I don’t think that’s true. It’s simply relative to how much you put into it.”

How consistent she stays, foodwise:
“I say I always eat right, but last night, I had fried clams, pasta with duck sausage and two glasses of red wine. When I want to lose, I eat less pasta, bread and potatoes. Before last year’s Iron Man 2 premiere, I did green juices and salads for three days.”
Gwyneth’s fitness secret:
“I do 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, because I like to eat. I also try for 45 minutes of muscular structure work, which is toning, realigning and lengthening. If I’m prepping for something or I’ve been eating a lot of pie, I do two hours a day, six days a week for two weeks.”

Gwyneth Paltrow confesses to “ironic” insecurities, perfectionism

Gwyneth Paltrow confesses to “ironic” insecurities, perfectionism

fp_7152911_paltrowgwyneth_goodmorning_cjny_09_14

Oh, happy day. You lucky bitches get TWO posts about Dame Gwyneth today. CB already covered some of the Goop stuff earlier today - Gwyneth Paltrow talking about how much she works out while quietly judging you for not working out two hours every day while maintaining an 800 calorie diet (seriously, that’s the Tracy Anderson Method). I’ve just been watching Gwyneth’s appearance on Good Morning America, and rolling my eyes. My absolutely favorite part is the beginning where GMA compiled all of Gwyneth’s awards show singing appearances and it was like the producers were totally passive aggressive and chose the worst pieces to clip together. Hilarious. Take it away, GOOP!

I always forget how terrible her voice is. Like, her speaking voice. When I’m reading an interview with her or something, I can recall her snotty, annoying voice, but for some reason, the memory of it isn’t as bad as the reality of it. And of course her Very Dear Friend Mario Batali had to give her a little introduction. Dame Gwyneth thinks she’s winning us over. She thinks she’s the Kate Middleton of America (And Britain! And Spain!).

In other Goop news, she just gave an interview to USA Today (via Yahoo) to promote her book. It’s kind of epic… the piece is called “Gwyneth Paltrow thinks she is ‘deeply flawed’”. Like, ZOMG BREAKING NEWS!!!!! Eat this up, peasants:

The 38-year-old actress - who has children Apple, six, and Moses, five, with husband Chris Martin - claims she is too much of a perfectionist and considers herself a “normal mother” like any other parent with a career.

She said: “One of my most negative qualities is the perfectionism that I have, and I think that I unconsciously project that because it comes from self-doubt and insecurity and that’s the ironic part. I’m so deeply flawed. I’m just a normal mother with the same struggles as any other mother who’s trying to do everything at once and trying to be a wife and maintain a relationship. There’s absolutely nothing perfect about my life, but I just try hard.”

The blonde beauty was once famous for her strict food regime, following a macrobiotic diet - focusing on grains and local vegetables while avoiding processed items - but she has now relaxed and admits her old eating habits now seem “alien” to her.

She added: “I haven’t been macrobiotic in seven years, so it seems sort of foreign at this point. Although, a lot of the principles, like trying to eat whole foods and homemade foods and local foods and seasonal foods, that’s still very much a part of the way I think about food.”

Gwyneth is releasing her own cookbook, entitled ‘My Father’s Daughter’, which is inspired by the meals she enjoyed with her late father Bruce Paltrow and she promises the recipes are ideal for family life.

She said in an interview with the USA Today newspaper: “It’s American family food; it’s very accessible and easy to make. It’s mostly on the healthier side, although there are definitely some guilty pleasures in there.”

[From USA Today via Yahoo]

What’s with all of these women claiming to be “perfectionists” lately? Emma Watson did it too - Emma dropped out of college because she was so “perfectionist” and now Gwyneth is giving the same excuse (in a ham-fisted way) for explaining why she’s such pretentious, sanctimonious bitch. But seriously, analyze this statement: “One of my most negative qualities is the perfectionism that I have, and I think that I unconsciously project that because it comes from self-doubt and insecurity and that’s the ironic part.” First: She’s only ironically perfect! Second: I think she’s trying to say that she tries to come across as so (ironically) perfect because she’s deeply insecure? Really, Goop? Or is it that you suffer from hyper-narcissism and you just pretend to be “flawed” because you think more peasants will buy your book? Oh, Goop. You are a riddle wrapped in enigma, covered in pretension, dipped in sanctimony, left out to dry on the rack of inanity and then packaged in vitamin deficiency.

Goop: ‘I can be 38 & have two kids & wear a bikini b/c I work my f’ing ass off’

Goop: ‘I can be 38 & have two kids & wear a bikini b/c I work my f’ing ass off’

wenn3269418

We get it Goop, we’re all eating too much and spending too much time watching you try to sing and pose on the TeeVee now that your movie career has gone to sh*t. You work harder than us, your kids are better clothed and more talented than ours, and you’re skinnier and richer than we are. You hold the keys to our happiness and only you can tell us how to live, eat and shop so that we’ll taste a small fraction of the happiness and success that is your everyday life. Oh Goopy, tell us how to BE you so that we may bask in your hungry sweaty glow.
“The reason that I can be 38 and have two kids and wear a bikini is because I work my [expletive] ass off. It’s not an accident. It’s not luck, it’s not fairy dust, it’s not good genes. It’s killing myself for an hour and a half five days a week, but what I get out of it is relative to what I put into it. That’s what I try to do in all areas of my life.”
[Via PopSugar]

Thank you so much, Ms. Paltrow. Thank you! You must also know how to have a happy marriage, since your husband actually showed up at something you were promoting. Oh and you’re so hip and cool and you’re down with the black people. We admire that too. Show us the way, Goopy, the way to sanctimony and know-it-all, the way to sell, sell sell when you’ve got nothing left but your lifestyle to hawk.

Kaiser e-mailed me this and I must add it. “I’m surprised Gwyneth didn’t say something about her ‘very best dear friend, Gangster Rappers.’”

We don’t have access to a lot of the recent photos of Gwynnie, but you can see them on Popsugar and Lainey Gossip here and here. Her Botoxy face is lighting up the place.

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Glee

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Glee

Gwyneth Paltrow is as obsessed with Glee as we are with her being on Glee, so that’s good news for all the Gleeks out there!

She spoke about her most recent experience and how much fun she had.
“I had such a good time. I went out to California for about 10 days and took the kids with me. I brought them out of school. I just loved doing that show.
“When I was first asked to do the show I had never seen it. I had heard it was a big hit, so I said, ‘Yeah!’ But it was tough. I’m used to a slower pace of shooting on a movie and this was really frantic. But I think I preferred it, actually.”
I cannot BELIEVE that Gwyneth hadn’t seen an episode of Glee before doing the show. I mean, Glee is everywhere, how could she miss it?! I mean seriously. I was at a wedding the other day and the DJ was playing the Glee version of songs rather than the real things.

Are you looking forward to seeing Gwyneth’s third episode on the hit show?

“Glee” & Gwyneth Paltrow: A Match Made in Musical Heaven

“Glee” & Gwyneth Paltrow: A Match Made in Musical Heaven

She’s fully exploring her singing prowess these days and Gwyneth Paltrow has found a winning combination with the hit show “Glee.”

According to a report, creator/executive producer Ryan Murphy can’t seem to get enough of the “Country Strong” babe, and plans on having her on the show again in the future.

Murphy told press, “Gwyneth is sort of the muse of the show. She’s somebody who I write on the weekends and say, ‘What do you think about this for an episode even if you’re not in it?’ She has opinions. She’s great.”

Additionally, Murphy also noted that “Glee” will dedicate an episode to the Fleetwood Mac album Rumors.

Gwyneth Paltrow put her heart and soul into her flick Country Strong, and even she thinks it shows through on the big screen. The actress says she normally doesn't like watching her own movies, but was surprisingly impressed the flick when she watched it recently.
She said: “Last night, when I was watching the film, I thought, ‘This is the best job I’ve ever done.’ Normally I can’t stand to see myself but with this film, I felt like it all came together, all that hard work and putting myself in such an uncomfortable position where I felt so scared of how I was going to do it. I’m happy with how it turned out.”

Gwyneth – who has children Apple, six, and Moses, four, with husband Chris Martin – also admitted she had to do more preparation for this role than any other she has played in her career.

She added in an interview with InStyle magazine: “I’ve never prepared for anything more in my life. It was a big responsibility. There was studying with an accent coach, learning to play guitar and, of course, the singing. My voice didn’t have any power and I wanted to try to sing properly. I was so nervous about performing live scenes in the film, that’s so foreign to me. Learning to play guitar was so hard! Luckily, my family tolerated me while I was practicing. I was pretty bad.”

Gwyneth Paltrow Ready For A Move To Nashville

Gwyneth Paltrow Ready For A Move To Nashville

Gwyneth Paltrow may just be ready to make the leap back across the pond. She currently resides in London with her husband, Chris Martin, and their two kids, but after filming Country Strong in Nashville, she fell in love with the way of life there.

Gwyneth said,
“I loved it in Nashville. There’s something about it here – it is so relaxing and everybody is so kind and I just loved it. Would I move here? Listen, I would love it.
“London is great but I miss America. Nowadays, I feel like we’re citizens of everywhere.”
She says that Nashville is full of undiscovered amazing spots!
“I was 18 when I started doing films and travelling and it was so lonely. Exploring became this whole other thing I could do when I was missing my home and finding great spots and museums and clothing shops made me feel less lonely.
“And I’m a very curious person. But let’s face it, a lot of my search was food-driven! Nashville was so exciting to explore when we weren’t filming because of all the hidden gems.”
For some reason, I don’t imagine Gwyneth settling down in Nashville anytime soon. She definitely seems like more of a London girl to me. I think Gwyneth is used to a pretty glamorous lifestyle.
