Hey Guys, I'm Back!!!!

Sorry for such the long delay in my post, i have been just preparing for college and things, my excitement is growing by the minute :) A few days ago I stopped by Target and I went to the sale section for shoes, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these lovely vintage looking bootties sitting so alone on the shelf. The sale sign read 50% off, I almost jumped in the air, that was until I found out they were in the wrong section. It turns out that they werent on sale, but I still bought them anyway! :)

Krystal Bick has the style of a goddess. When I first came across her blog, This Time tomorrow, I was instantly drawn to her ever changing/flawless style and a feature on her was a must :)

Who is your fave superhero and why?
Quailman, hands down. Belt on forehead, real underwear over the shorts. Genius. I hope he's with Patty Mayonnaise somewhere.
What inspired you to create a blog and what is it that you love most about blogging?Honestly, I have always checked out fashion blogs, be it for inspiration or just a good old fashioned style pick-me-up, but had never considered creating one myself. Somehow, I felt that I had no place doing it. My style wasn't really any different and/or I don't have a lot of designer things. But then I realized, that's the beauty of this melting pot of the fashion community. It sort of feeds off of each other. All kinds. All prices. All body types. All attitudes. I love it. That's why I wanted to be a part of it. It's overwhelming, obnoxious and full of ideas and personalities. I also want to someday work for a fashion/style related magazine and wanted to get my feet wet so to speak in regards to talking shop, fashion wise.
When did you really get into fashion?
Oh, this probably kicked in when I was about 13 or 14 and begged my dad to take me to a mall in California, a much larger mall than the one in our town. Granted, at the time, I was smitten with Abercrombie & Fitch and my tastes since then have drastically changed, but I think I realized then how much fashion is out there. Plus, I've always had way more clothes than necessary. I am, by my very nature, a clothes horse.

Other than fashion, what has the power to effortlessly put a smile on your face?Listening to people laugh, reading something that makes you look at things completely differently, good libraries, pesto, sleeping in really late on Sundays, sleeping in really late on Sundays with my boyfriend, the feeling after a really long run, finding random music mixes from years before and being reminded of things, reading highlighted sections or handwritten notes in books, a bold Chianti...Sorry for the list. I'm done smiling now. Ha.

Where does your inspiration come from? (movies, people, nature, art ect.)
People. Definitely people. And yes, movies and celebrities and artists keep a keen watch on the very pulse of styles, but sometimes I'd much rather see how the woman in the car next to me put her outfit together this morning. I can relate to her. It's sort of like people watching in a way, I like seeing people and seeing how they're feeling and how they're expressing it that day at a given moment through their clothes. It's such a basic human experience we all share. I mean, after all, we all put our pants on basically the same way, we just do it a little differently.

What is a typical day like in the life of Krystal?
Jet-setting to Paris and having lunch breaks with the Olsen Twins so we can talk about how effortlessly fashionable we are. You know, no biggie. Ah, typical day. I wake up, (often late) throw on an outfit, drink far too much Diet Pepsi, arrive at a law office, zone out for a couple of hours, go home, blog, repeat. That's been my post-graduate life thus far. And I'm ready for a change.

If you were to describe yourself in five words what would they be?Fickle, yet devoted, anxious, dreamer, and firm believer in being genuinely nice to people (more than five, sorry)

When you think of life, what comes to mind?

It's long and short, all at the same time.

Fashion is the reason why I'm late to work most days.

When I opened my droopy eyes this morning all I could see was my dad hanging over me. He practically flung me out the bed, told me to get dressed, and he wouldn't tell me where we were going.

We went shopping. He knows me too well.

I honestly love this hat although I rarely wear it, I just love the "top Hat" look it gives off.

btw, while I was out I bought a new hat. It will be debuting soon :)

Red lipstick/large summer straw hat can make any girl smile. I woke up today itching to just twirl around in my backyard under the gum ball sun. happiness is all feel today, Happy to just be here, in this life, living and loving. I tend to go through lots and lots of fashion blogs because I always like the feeling I get when I come across a new one that really makes me smile. Well today I came across The Singular , a blog full of amazing fashionable street photography that could inspire even the most uninspired.

I always see the typical "what I want" collage post on alot of fashion blogs and so I decided to do one. Although instead of just thinking about all the things that I don't have, I made a simple collage of a few things that are in my life right now, things that I'm thankful for :)

• The Crazy guy with an insane look on his face is from my ultimate fave comedy Death at a funeral, nothing is better than watching it on a rainy Sunday.
• Sunflowers are so calming, they carry light with them even when the sun is not present.
• Tea is soothing. Sometimes I have one of those days where everything seems to be going down hill and just drinking a small cup of tea can put a gentle crooked/tiny smile in the corner of my mouth.
• The Blue Bench has been in my backyard for years and it adds a little something extra to the pebbles/weeds/outgrown flowers around it.'

I also have a new hat in the family, as soon as I saw it I couldn't put it down, it gives off a Sherlock Holmes vibe and i like it, i like it alot :)

A while back I told you guys that I was on the hunt for some new sneakers and well I found them. I haven't worn sneakers since 8th grade and to be honest wearing these gorgeous shoes today kind of made me feel like a badass!

I just bought this dress yesterday and I fell completely in love with the simplicity of it, the same way that I fell in love with the Simple words of Shel Sileverstein. Being a poet myself, I have done my fair share of reading work from a vast amount of poets, from the legends to the freelance writers. But my heart will always belong to shel silverstein, his work is simple, funny, charming, witty, and really captures those timeless moments of childhood. He was the first poet that I ever read and he is the only poet that has a piece of my heart each time my eyes gaze over his childlike words.

I have typed and retyped this post so many times and I just cant figure out what to say or how to say whatever I'm trying to say but the main thing is, is that tomorrow I'm leaving for college. I can't believe it and to be honest It really hasn't sunk in. I don't know everything yet but one thing I do know is that I want to do more with my life, I want to be more, I want to impact positively on other peoples lives. Life is a gift and I want to share mine. Btw moving this entire mess of clothes wasnt easy but I did it!

Lately it has come to my attention that Minnie Mouse is my current inspiration. I'm always in awe by how care free she looks in a simple red dress and bow with white polka dots which is why I bought this big/bright/sparkly/pink bow. It's become a 'regular' to all of my outfits, I figure out some way to include it even if I'm just in a hoodie and jeans;The pink bow will always be the finishing touch.

Jeans are a closet token, we acquire them while we're growing up and they put a little bit of balance and simplicity into our lives. They tear and get worn out yet we wear them not only as some fashion statement but mainly as a statement to show where we've been, each hole has a story and the pockets keep old receipts from convenience stores tucked away.

Skin

When it somes to skin there are a range of different types, textures and colors blending to create something unique and wonderful. When worn, our own skin tones are not only illuminating but glowing against the contrast of another skin.

Plaid

I always remember elementary school when I had to wear uniforms, knee high socks, black shoes, white collar shirt, and the unforgettable plaid skirt. For years after elementary I stayed way from plaid because I had worn it for so long but slowly its creeping back into my closet; different patterns black/blue red/blue and the famous black/white.

Straw

I believe that my fascination with hats began with watching my dad go to work in the usual suit/tie and some kind of hat sitting his bald head. He has tons of hats and this summer was when my fascination and exploration of them began,specifically straw hats. They brighten up any outfit while throwing a but of sunshine in my day.

Floral
Spring is inching closer and closer to us and once again stores are coming up with the "revolutionary" idea of bringing in....can you guess?....FLORAL!! wow what a surprise. Although floral in spring is very unoriginal I kind of like it and feel the need to bring more of it into my closet.

Flowers & Bows

I used to not even think about accessories because all that was on my mind were the clothes, but that all changed. I developed a deep interst in bows and flowers, anything that can spice up simple cutoff shorts and a vintage tee.

These are the patterns/texture/tokens that take over my closet and my outfits daily. I may have missed some other textures/or closet tokens so if so feel free to post some more in a comment :)

This has to be one of my favorite editorials. Everything looks so natural and Natasha Poly looks gorgeous eating that mouthwatering cupcake. Anytime I feel off about my body or bad when I eat something that I know is gonna go straight to my ass,I remember this editorial and it reminds me that Junk is all love. Junk food if eaten without moderation can turn you into a ball of fat but a cookie here and candy there won't kill us ;)
