Was Lady Gaga coked out of her skull during her Harper’s Bazaar interview?

Was Lady Gaga coked out of her skull during her Harper’s Bazaar interview?

gaga1

Lady Gaga covers the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar, and the bizarre photo shoot was done by Terry Richardson, if you couldn’t have guessed. Gaga is wearing those cheek things again - they kind of gross me out. As for the interview… uh… Gaga is coked out of her mind during the interview. Seriously, read it here. I’ll just do the highlights:

The conversation about her “spiny” prosthetics:

How long does it take to apply the makeup and prosthetics to her face and arms?

“Well, first of all,” she says, “they’re not prosthetics. They’re my bones.”

Okay, so when did the bones appear?

“They’ve always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am.”

Did she will them to come out for this album?

“They come out when I’m inspired.”

Is she worried that this new look will inspire other people to “grow” similar bones?

“We all have these bones!” she says tersely. “They’re the light from inside of us. Do you mean body modification?”

On being Born This Way: “It’s a performance-art piece. I have never, ever encouraged my fans or anyone to harm themselves, nor do I romanticize masochism. Body modification is part of the overarching analysis of ‘Born This Way.’ In the video, we use Rico, who is tattooed head to toe [including a skull on his face]. He was born that way. Although he wasn’t born with tattoos, it was his ultimate destiny to become the man he is today.”

On plastic surgery: “I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification. And how many models and actresses do you see on magazine covers who have brand-new faces and have had plastic surgery, while I myself have never had any plastic surgery? I am an artist, and I have the ability and the free will to choose the way the world will envision me.”

On assimilation: “I had all these No. 1 records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture? I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately. I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars.”

On being seen as promoting plastic surgery? “Trust me, I know that. I think a lot of people love to convolute what everyone else does in order to disempower women. But my fans know me. They would never hurt themselves. And if they have hurt themselves, they come to me and say, ‘Gaga, I want to stop, and your music helps me want to stop. Your music makes me want to love myself.’ I am in no way promoting sadomasochism or masochism.”

She thinks that after Alexander McQueen’s suicide, he began working through her: “I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote ‘Born This Way.’ I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.” Supporting Gaga’s claim was the decision by the label–not Gaga herself–to move up the release date for “Born This Way,” ultimately to the exact day of the one-year anniversary of McQueen’s death. “When I heard that, I knew he planned the whole damn thing. I didn’t even write the f-cking song. He did!”

She’s happy to respond to recent claims: “I’m not engaged, and I’m not a drug addict, but thank you for asking.”

She‘s delusional: “I’ve always wanted to be an adjective,” she says with a smile. But she adds, “Back then, I was just delusional. I’m going to make a T-shirt that says, I’M NOT A PROPHET, I’M DELUSIONAL.”

Her motto: “You can quote me on this: People love you when they think you won’t be around for very long, and people hate you when they can’t get rid of you. But I’m not going anywhere.”

[From Harper’s Bazaar]

The part about McQueen was just… wrong. Beyond that… I just don’t even know where to start with this one, so instead I’ll tell you a story about my mom. My mom has convinced herself that her favorite cat, Charlie, is gay. Charlie is a sweet kitty - he’s beautiful too, all fluffy white fur with a few grey patches. He has sweet little weepy eyes and he sleeps with my mom every night, and the other cats beat him up. My mom said, “He can’t help it, I made him this way.” I replied, “No, mom. As Gaga would say, Charlie was Born This Way.”

Lady Gaga busted her ass on a flaming piano

Lady Gaga busted her ass on a flaming piano

wenn3265943

I don’t know if this video is going to be up much longer, it seems like YouTube has already pulled a few down. So enjoy it while you can - Lady Gaga busting her ass on stage in Houston. Yes, the piano is on fire. And yes, she’s wearing crazy boots. Apparently, Gaga was trying to “jump off” the piano (this according to random reports), but on the video is looks more like she was trying to straddle the piano with one foot, and the stool with her other foot, and she just lost her balance. Meh.

It is kind of amazing that she didn’t really hurt herself, though. And that she was able to continue singing, even when she was flat on her ass. Does this kind of public klutz moment bother a crazy control freak like Gaga? Probably. But everybody has klutz moments, and if I was walking in Gaga’s crazy shoes, I would have klutz moments every five minutes.

In other Gaga news, her new music video for “Judas” has already been shot, and apparently even the rumors of what happens in the video is enough to get the Catholic Church up in arms. JUST LIKE MADONNA and “Like a Prayer.” Read more about it here, at Gawker.

Katy Perry Squashes Lady Gaga Rivalry Rumors

Katy Perry Squashes Lady Gaga Rivalry Rumors

Enough's enough: Katy Perry is putting a stop to any and all rumors that there's some bitter rivalry between her and Lady Gaga, and their fans. How's she going about that? Twitter, of course!

The pop starlet tweeted over the weekend so all her 6.4 million followers could read: "Dear @MTV stop plotting mons†ers against ki††ens AKA katycats! We're all EQUAL/ONE! Don't get caught in the irresponsible journalism club!"

We're guessing the "plotting" Katy tweeted about refers to the fact that she covered Gaga's "Born This Way" at a recent concert (so maybe fans had to choose?), and her song "E.T." is closing in on Gaga's top spot on the Hot 100 charts. In any case, these gals seem to be getting along great in real life.

Gaga even gave Katy a present, so you know there's really no beef. Katy tweeted to her pal:  "Oh eem gee... Thank you so for my a-may-zing, highlarious, thoughtful prezzy @ladygaga :) It will be put to good use! X"

Even more important than alleged katycat and monster fights: is these big stars are both coming together for a great cause: disaster relief in Japan. Both gals contributed songs to the benefit album, Songs for Japan. All of the royalties and proceeds from Gaga's "Born This Way" and Perry's "Firework" will go to relief efforts.

Lady Gaga releases country remix of “Born This Way”: better or worse?

Lady Gaga releases country remix of “Born This Way”: better or worse?

gaga3

You know how I hated Lady Gaga’s video for “Born This Way” and how the sheer forced-weirdness of the video might have influenced my thoughts on the actual song? Yeah, I’m going to have to take some of it back. First of all, three mornings in a row this week I watched the “Born This Way” video on VH1 while I ate breakfast, and while I still don’t care for the video, the song is catchy in that particular way Gaga’s songs are always catchy. So, I’ve already been singing it to myself all week. And now Gaga has dropped a “remix” on us. It’s the country version of “Born This Way”! Um… is it okay if I LOVE this version?

Gaga debuted it on Twitter this morning, and the remix was co produced by Gaga and Fernando Garibay. I heart this version so much. It’s so bluesy, and now I want Gaga to perform it on the CMAs or something. Hey, if they let Gwyneth in, why not Gaga?!?

Here’s the old version, for comparison:

Lady Gaga Sleeps in Her Makeup

Lady Gaga Sleeps in Her Makeup

And we all know Lady Gaga wears a lot of makeup.

Ever wonder what Lady Gaga uses to wash the prosthetic horns off her face?

According to a new interview with People, Gaga has always cleansed with Ivory soap—when she gets the chance to cleanse, that is. The pop star confessed that she rarely washes her face before she goes to bed, admitting, "That's not good for your skin, but I'm blessed with good genes."

Lady Gaga does have a few beauty rituals, however: She always keeps sunblock in her beauty bag. "I don't like to tan my face because it's bad for wrinkles."

But Gaga would rather her fans follow their instincts than try to imitate her look. "Just go with your gut," she said. "Whenever you try to be someone else, it's boring."

Details from People:
When asked how many nights per week she goes to bed wearing makeup, she replies, “Seven. That is not good for your skin, but I’m blessed with good genes.”
What is good for her skin? The sunblock she carries around in her beauty bag.
“I don’t like to tan my face because it’s bad for wrinkles,” she explains.

Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Censored in Malaysia for Pro-Gay Lyrics

Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Censored in Malaysia for Pro-Gay Lyrics

Lady Gaga's Malaysian fans will have to deal with a heavily edited version of her hit song "Born This Way." The AP reports that broadcasters in the majority Muslim nation refuse to play lyrics from the song that endorse homosexual lifestyles.

Radio stations have been playing a version of the track that has garbled nonsense in place of the lyrics: "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track, baby." Malaysia's AMP Radio Networks explain that they've been playing the censored version of the song to stay in line with strict government rules surrounding media.

"The particular lyrics in 'Born This Way' may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia's social and religious observances," the company said in a statement. "The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a 'taboo' by general Malaysians."

Gaga isn't the first artist to run afoul of strict religous taboos in Malaysia. Madonna and Beyonce Knowles have both faced protests, threats of violence and government threats to shut down their performances when they scheduled tour dates there.

Gaga has yet to speak out about the censorship, but the issue of gay advocacy is one close to her heart, and she recently severed a business relationship with Target stores over political donations that flew against her support of gay marriage.

Lady Gaga's prayer bracelet
Lady Gaga is calling on her little monsters to aid disaster relief efforts in Japan. In wake of the devastation created by an 8.9-magnitude earthquake and 23-foot tsunami that hit the country last week, the songstress designed a prayer bracelet that's being sold in her online store.

The white and red bracelet reads "We pray for Japan" in both English and Japanese (it also features her signature claw motion) and is selling for $5 on Gaga's online store.  "I Designed a Japan Prayer Bracelet. Buy It/Donate here and ALL proceeds will go to Tsunami Relief Efforts. Go Monsters," she wrote recently on her blog, pointing fans to her online store.

Plenty of other stars have tweeted their condolences to Japan since the massive devastation occurred on Friday. Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, and a slew of other stars have asked their followers to keep the country in their thoughts and prayers.

Lady Gaga Might Sue over 'Baby Gaga' Breast Milk Ice Cream

Lady Gaga Might Sue over 'Baby Gaga' Breast Milk Ice Cream

Lady Gaga is not down with Baby Gaga.

The pop performer has reportedly threatened to sue a London ice creamery over their human breast milk-flavored ice cream, Baby Gaga. Matt O'Connor, the owner of The Icecreamists, told the NYPost, "She's acting like a big baby who is crying over spoiled breast milk."

Gaga doesn't have all that much to worry about: no one's buying the frozen treat these days. The product is currently being tested for health code violations. The sugary treat is made with human breast milk, vanilla pods and lemon.

Do you think Lady Gaga has much of a case? And isn't it sort of funny coming from the woman who supposedly wants her perfume to smell like blood and semen?

Katy Perry Blasts Lady GaGa’s Claim of Hermaphrodite

Katy PerrySinger Katy Perry has made her opinion public and insists that the rumors about Lady Gaga’s hermaphrodite status are fuelled on purpose.
This has sparked off fresh debate as to whether or not Lady GaGa has both female and male reproductive organs.

According to a news report at a website that GaGa actually addressed the rumors of her sexuality with a blog entry at Christmas last year.
The website claims Lady Gaga wrote, “It’s not something that I`m ashamed of, just isn`t something that I go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female.”
GaGa has since slammed the rumors about the blog as “ridiculous”, but Katy is convinced that GaGa purposefully made it look like she had a bulge in order to gain more publicity.
“It`s all very calculated. She knows what she`s doing. She put something in her knickers, a mini strap-on. Bless her if she does have it (male organ), but I am certain she doesn`t,” Perry was quoted telling to a newspaper.

Gaga's performance at the Mugler show is ONE SLEEP AWAY! 2011

Lady Gaga and her stylist, collaborator and friend, Nicola Formichetti are both having a big week. Gaga is fully immersed in the launch of her new album and single and Nicola’s first ready to wear collection for Mugler is to show imminently at Paris Fashion Week. Fashion fans become over excited at the prospect of any show by a new designer – and this one is buckling under the weight of extra hype: Gaga will singing a brand new, never-before heard song, live at the show.

To say we are exited about what the lady and her Haus of Gaga will come up with is an understatement. And how on earth the models wearing the clothes will get a look in, with that attention seeker prancing around at the same time is a question we will have to wait till tomorrow to find out the answer to. The Lady has form when it comes to gate crashing catwalk shows – in September 2009 Alexander McQueen’s S/S ’11 show was due to be streamed live on SHOWstudio.com – the first event of its kind, when Gaga, at that point the person with the most twitter followers on earth, tweeted that her new song was to be debuted at the collection, whereupon so many people tried to log on that the site crashed before a single dress could be seen.
The overlap between the two artists work – Nicola and Gaga that is, has been widening of late.  Not only has Nicola been issuing daily internet ‘teasers’ leading up to both his menswear and womenswear shows featuring the music his muse, but the be-platformed one has been making a large proportion of her public appearances decked out in Mugler finery. Here we have exhibit A (top pic) – her and her dancers performing in latex robes at the Grammys and here we are again – in her Born this way video, wearing a sculpted-shoulder suit from Mugler as well as these ‘knife boots’ below -
Oh, how we love it when a plan comes together! Gaga and Nicola are the perfect synergy. Even though, with the prospect of more latex, platform heels higher than cranes and more body modification with nobules and globules on Gaga’s face and shoulders, we might be a bit frightened by it – we cannot wait for the show!
Stay tuned to Grazia Daily all this week for Paris news as it happens!
Lady Gaga is looking for 10 amazing bloggers or video journalists to submit a 1-to-2 minute video showing why they should be the ‘little local monster blogger’.  The winner will get to hang out on tour with Gaga and interview, document what is going on for Virgin Mobile. WORLD EXCLUSIVE: The beauty scoop on Lady Gaga’s new ‘Glamazon’ look!

We’ve had crazy Gaga now meet Glamazon Gaga.

For her new comeback single cover, out this Friday (oh, the anticipation), our favourite Lady reveals her most shocking look yet. Shot in black and white by legendary snapper Nick Knight, Gaga poses naked for the camera accessorized with nothing but wild Glamazon hair and cats eye liner. Huh?  No raw meat dress?  No sculptural hairpiece?

Hair stylist and the man behind the look, Sam Mcknight, tells me Gaga is turning over a new fashion leaf. ‘My brief was to make her look as beautiful and glamorous as possible. She wanted to move away from looking freaky,’ explains Sam. On set, it was high-octane glamour all the way. ‘I wanted to make her look like a classic American goddess to show off how beautiful she really is. No crazy outfits, just her looking fabulous,’ says Sam.

Shot in North West London, the team including makeup artist Val Garland, Mcknight and photographer Nick Knight worked into the small hours as Gaga worked the lense to her new track Born This Way.
Cheryl Tiegs, Farrah Fawcett
‘Gaga is so inspirational, she came to the shoot with tons of references along the 80’s and 90’s Supermodel vibe. I took influence from old Avedon Versace models with their wild flowing hair,’ says Sam who also took a nod from all-American 70’s icons like Cheryl Tiegs. We think it’s got a touch of Farrah Fawcett meets Madonna circa True Blue about it.
Madonna
So, does this mean a return to marathon hair styling? I’m afraid so. Sam says stock up on mousse to blow-dry with, and then start backcombing. Finish with a shine cream or serum on the ends. ‘I used a combo of Pantene Pro-V Volume and Body Mousse and Kiehl’s Crème with Silk Groom. Then I gently brushed out the edges with a paddle brush to soften the backcombed effect.’
